The Area
Shuswap Lake and Area
TowJammerZ is located just off the government wharf launch ramp in Sicamous BC. Considered the "houseboat capital of Canada", Sicamous is a hotbed of summertime activity, and is rapidly becoming a cultural gem. Just off the Trans-Canada Highway, we are conveniently located 5 1/2 hours west of Calgary, and about the same distance northeast of Vancouver. For our American friends in Seattle and Spokane, we are within 7 hours drive- with scenery and exchange rates that make the trip well worth your while. Kelowna Airport, slightly over 1 hour south, has multiple daily flights from Calgary, Vancouver, and Seattle.
The Sicamous channel joins Mara Lake to the south with Shuswap Lake on the north. Mara Lake has calm, warm water and abundant accommodations. Shuswap Lake, much larger, has over 1200km of shoreline, most of it undeveloped and pristine.
Okanagan Lake and Area
Less than 1 hour to the south is the northern tip of Okanagan Lake, stretching 60 miles north to south. With warm water and chiseled shorelines, it is a boater's spectacle. Just to the east is Kalamalka Lake, with blue water exhibited on many a postcard, and vistas to die for.
Boating season reasonably stretches from early May to mid October, with discounted off-season rates to make a little cold (but very calm) water more than worth your while
