Spring is in the Air

Friday, February 15th, 2008

Hello out there all loyal readers in Towbloggerland!  Welcome to our latest post: this is your source for the latest in news from your friends at Towjammerz.  As spring is now around the corner (though the snow on the ground– and rooftops– might convince one otherwise), it seems like a good time to provide the latest updates in preparation for summer.

For the first time in our history, we will not be expanding our fleet this year.  We found last year that 10 boats and 3 SeaDoos in the fleet was ideal, given our staffing, space, and desire to provide top-shelf service.  So this year, we’re sticking with this formula.  That’s not to say the fleet will remain unchanged– in fact, far from it.  Absent from the fleet this year will be our venerable Malibu Sportster LX and Monterey 190 LS, as well as the Malibu Wakesetter XTi.  We’ll be replacing those units with brand new models from Crownline, Larson, and Mastercraft.  Our Crownline 240EX will join the Crownline 19SS added to the fleet mid-summer last year, which proved to be very popular and reliable.  The 240 is larger than anything seen on the Towjammerz lot this far: our new queen of the fleet.  With wide open space and even an enclosed head, she’ll appeal to your sense of comfort, and the 350 Mag MPI and dual prop drive with satisfy your performance ego.  She’ll be well equipped, and have all the watersports amenities you expect from a Towjammerz boat.  Our Larson 208 LXi should be arriving in May.  Sized a little larger than the Monterey, it’s the perfect combination of amenities, performance, and unmistakable Towjammerz value.  This blue beauty will be outfitted with V-8 power, a 13th Floor wake tower, and many options.  She’ll complement the Crownline 19SS nicely, with a little more power and size.  Finally, our newest Mastercraft X-1 will join what has proven to be one of our most popular boats- namely “Battleship”, our existing X-1.  This 2008 lighter blue beauty, codenamed “Hounddog II”, has a striking gelcoat and legendary Mastercraft towing performance.  As Battleship was booked the entire summer period in 2007, this should provide some much needed booking space in this size and performance category.  Rental pricing for 2008 has risen less than inflation, about 2.5% on average, plus we offer a cash/cheque payment discount for this year.

Next on the agenda is our ski and boarding school, back after a successful 2007.  Did you know we’re the only watersports school on the Shuswap with dedicated boats for wakeboarding and skiing?  Our wake boat, a 23 foot Mastercraft V-Drive, is equipped with PerfectPass Wakeboard Pro, 900 watts of stereo power, and 2000 lbs of ballast!  That’s a whole ton, 2 1/2 times the weight of typical factory systems.  That’s a great tow tractor for riding, but a little suspect for cutting up glass on a slalom ski.  Thus, for you longboarders, we offer up the Mastercraft Prostar 197/ X-7.  Merely the current world record holder in mens and womens open slalom, this craft satisfies the most discriminating 3 event skiers every day– we don’t see it treating you any differently.  Good news as well, our prices for training sessions will be unchanged for ‘08.

We’ll continue to offer the best watersports gear from H.O., Hyperlite, Connelly, CWB, and Liquid Force.  Clarion and 13th Floor have great new offerings for 2008, and we’ll have them available for you.  We continue to offer Wet Sounds, merely the biggest thing to hang from a wakeboard tower since that rental customer we had in 2005!  (but that’s a story for another day)  Next time by the store, take a listen to our demo models blasting tunes all the way to the waterfront, or better yet, let us give you a detailed demo behind the boat!

We have a couple pre-owned watersports towboats for sale: the 2002 Malibu Sportster LX, as well as our 2005 Mastercraft X-Star, the finest wakeboard towboat ever to grace the waterfront.  You can presently see details and pics of these models under the rental section on ‘The Fleet’, and soon on the ‘Used Boats’ section, along with many other web updates.

Friends, bookings this year are coming much sooner than we’ve seen previously.  We’ve got a large fleet, so a great selection of boats and times remain presently.  However, with our fleet size static, you’ll want to consider reserving the vacation boat of your dreams soon–  don’t be left disappointed later!

Feel free to surf the site, give us a call, or send an email.  Talk to you soon!
